More and more enterprises are adopting virtualization for storage and computing in the data center. For all the benefits of virtualization there are serious challenges. For example configuration management techniques and requirements for service level views of infrastructure are on the rise but virtualization and conventional service level views of data management are on a collision course. Virtualization involves the constant building up and tearing down of data which results in constant changes in dependencies and maps. This fluid environment makes it harder and harder to know what's going on in your enterprise. Furthermore, once you do discover an issue, where do you go to fix it?
This discussion will cover what can be done to overcome some of the data management and infrastructure challenges that virtualization raises.
