We are accelerating towards a "hyperconnected" world with an explosion in devices and modes of communication leading to a dependence on reliable, secure "always-on" network for business to operate, deliver their services and grow. In an attempt to address these needs there has been an explosive growth in point function products that are then introduced into networks in an ad-hoc manner. This has resulted in complex network architectures which, if not addressed, can impede the very business agility and growth that CIO's are seeking. As Enterprise architectures evolve to address the mobile "hyperconnected" employee and 'computing in the cloud', there is a recurring need to rationalize and simplify one's infrastructure and corresponding application architectures to deliver agility, enhance productivity and accelerate time to market.
We present how new concepts around network virtualization, network as a virtual resource and the service-oriented networks are being developed to simplify the network and make the network a key contributor to business agility and growth. The talk will focus on evolution of network virtualization technology and use-cases that illustrates these concepts and solutions.
