Speaker: Jack Pouchet, Director Energy Initiatives, Emerson Network Power.
Many data-center managers would like to "go green" but they don't know where to start. This session looks at the data center identifying areas of waste and inefficiency. Often, the simplest and cheapest solutions are the most effective. An inefficient data center can waste 250kW to 300kW of energy from the generator room, lighting, environmentals, security system, or fire-suppression system. These losses are not core to your operations, they don't support the servers or keep them running, don't keep them cool, don't process data and don't process storage. They just waste energy.
Green starts with conservation. This session will provide practical and low cost advice to help you save energy and money.
