NF3:  Leveraging Data Center White Space to Optimize IT Productivity
Tuesday, August 5, 2008, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Speaker:
John Pflueger, Technology Strategist, Dell, Inc.

Although today's companies are very interested in the size of their energy bill, the primary driver for action in these companies is the concern over their ability to continue to meet their computing needs within existing facilities. Frequently, these facilities are filled with older IT equipment, non-optimal cooling architectures and legacy power distribution products. As a result, owners of these facilities are leaving significant performance opportunities on the table and finding the useful lives of these facilities reduced. Opportunities to create 'white space', or empty areas, within the data center exist for all facilities. In fact, as larger white spaces are enabled, data center owners have more flexibility to leverage the newest data center architectures and products.

This presentation will provide detail for the audience as to what can be accomplished, both in terms of data center efficiency and data center productivity with optimum use of this white space.
