Speaker: Allwyn Sequeira, Senior Vice President of Product Operations, Blue Lane Technologies.
With perimeters becoming increasingly porous and virtualization moving from development/test to production, data center security professionals face new opportunities and challenges. At the same time, the next generation data center environment itself poses new challenges for traditional network security approaches and appliances. Some of these challenges include new exploits designed to evade IPS deep packet architectures, the inability of current systems to monitor inter-virtual machine (VM) traffic, and the processing requirements inherent with securing fluid meshes of VMs. These challenges will force security vendors to climb the ISO stack and focus more resources on the application layer in order to increase accuracy while maximizing uptime.
