Speaker: John Amaral, CTO, Vericept.
Corporate network perimeters are expanding and becoming more porous, simultaneously. Business continuity requires uninhibited information flow; yet, free-flowing data across these disappearing boundaries confounds traditional information protection. Loss of sensitive information puts organizations at risk of regulatory non-compliance, reduced competitive advantage and damage to the organization's brand and reputation. These risks and the potential for damage escalate in the next generation data center where data volumes are huge, the speed with which data moves is accelerated and the boundaries are even more diffuse. This free-flowing data renders traditional asset-based security technologies ineffective. Effective data loss protection requires a content-aware approach: asserting content-specific policies at data origin and every other touch point in the network. This type of solution represents a new class of data protection system - a system based on broad content analysis and classification capabilities. In this presentation, the speaker will explore the escalating challenge of protecting enterprise digital assets and how content awareness is a cornerstone of next generation information protection.
