Tuesday, August 5, 2008, 10:15 am - 11:15 am

The intention of this session is to provide a review of the various standards that data center design professionals utilize globally. Each are somewhat specific to their region in the world, however the overall theme of each is how to develop reliability for a data center or critical facility.

The session will review the definitions of availability, redundancy and reliability and how the differ from each other. A review of single points of failure will be elaborated further to show how they can impact the reliability of your facility. Finally, a review of the Uptime Institute's Tier system shall be the basis for identifying how reliable your data center facility is.
