The purpose of this session is to provide the attendee an understanding of the different types of fire protection and fire protection monitoring systems. Attendee will be provided a review of the NFPA and European standards to provide background.
The attendee will be instructed on all the different fire protection components that can be utilized in a data center. The review shall provide an overview of the device or system, how it operates on its own and as part of the system. Components such as hardware and equipment shall be reviewed as it relates to the space design. The instructor will complete the class by providing an exercise that will ask the attendee to locate pre-action and gas suppression equipment on a floor plan along with placement of sprinkler and gas suppression heads based on the rules provided by the instructor.
